This is a must-watch for all musicians.
Just got back from an amazing all-state clinic at Furman. Congrats to Mac and Kirkland for outstanding performances, and congrats to Gabe for making alternate! Here is Gabe taking part in a percussion master class Kirkland rehearsing with the Clinic Band Here is Mac rehearsing with the Junior band! Here is the "buckets" percussion feature we will be performing on May 12th. Gabe, this is all you man! The song is called "Recycled" by Julia Davila. It is a favorite of mine. Since I work as a painter, it wasn't hard to find some old paint buckets! It is not only a good musical peice, but an awesome visual. Pay close attention to sticking and crisp rhythms. This group has 8 drums, 2 on each part Here is the recording of Tim Rumsey's rendition of the popular hymn "To God be the Glory".
The recording has no percussion part, and, of course, a horn, oboe and bassoon instead of flute, trumpet and trombone! http://www.jwpepper.com/sheet-music/media-player.jsp?&&productID=10348190
FUN FACT: Even though this music was originally composed by Jerry Bock, it was orchestrated and conducted by John Williams - my favorite American film score composer!
