Dixieland jazz is a style of jazz that was popular in the early 1900s and originated in New Orleans, Louissianna. Sometimes is it called "New Orleans Jazz". It is characterized by a small group of instruments, usually a trumpet that plays melody, a clarinet and trombone that embellish the melody, a tuba or string bass to cover the bass line and percussion to keep time. Banjos and guitars are also common. | Listen to this band play "Jelly Roll" and see if we can achieve the same style in "Just a Closer Walk". |
